oh how i wished i had dark skies. here is the very first attempt of this object, it really needs longer - more data, only 2h39m from wallsend with a Dog racing meeting on - lucky i have anything really. ISO 800 taken wit hthe 127ED and the cooled canon 40D. I hope to add more data later in the week.
Good job David considering the challenges. It is taking on that 3D feel and some nice detail showing in the pads. The sky looks a bit grey and mottled to me - is that from the dog track?

it is a very ordinary image - it need a lot more signal and exposure time and yes the is the effects from the dog track and the light pollution over newcastle
My humble offering is in the July Challenge thread.
Looking at Light Pollution Suppression Filters today...
DT
ok will have a look. LOL suppose i should add this there.
As for the filters - i havent used any yet but i will have to do that I think or else i will get nothing. Really should open it up and get a suggestion as to the best filter for use with a DSLR in suburbia to image from nebulae to star clusters? not asking for much Eh?
You've done exceedingly well David. I don't envy your conditions there at all.
Only 30 days to go and you'll be imaging under clear dark skies.
I'm really looking forward to catching up with both you and Al.
(it was -3 in my backyard this morning, so pack an extra pair of socks)
Gee, I dunno about ordinary David, it has a dark brooding 3d quality to it, and its different, I like it. Some times understretching gives unexpected bonus effects.

Very nice David there is a lot of detail in the image and one of the best cats paws i have seen, well done .What you need is the big cat that did this to come crashing down on those dogs.

Great work there, especially considering the light from the dog track. Well framed too with the nebula and cluster fitted all in.
Scott
Thanks SCott - yes i framed this up exactly how it looked for me in Starry night Pro - but that ruddy dog track...... and for you to notice it it was bright
