IC 1396 and The Elephant Trunk in Ha

This capture is 5.25hrs of 15min subs taken over 16th and 17th June from London, squeezing as much as possible out of skies that don’t really get dark at this time of year. Imaging started at 11.15pm and ended by 02.45 when dawn was beginning to appear:

That looks very good. Pity you don't have SII & OIII to go with it.

Very Nice image Malcolm, I just took a look at your gallery, really lovely images. I have this same setup and cannot wait for the weather to clear to put it through it's paces.
Any tips on this camera and it's use?

Thanks all. Doug, the Art 11002 is a great camera, I use it more than the various other ccd cameras I’ve collected in the past few years. Quality of the subs is amazing, and I’m imaging from poor skies. From a dark sky site the results would be stunning. The 11002 chip in my Art is a class 2, so there are some column defects (3, I think) which are easily removed in Maxim DL. When I started using the camera it had a tendency to freeze in Maxim DL on my laptop however I cured this by adding a power usb hub (using a Dell Inspiron 9100 for capture). Shooting good amounts of Bias, Darks and Flats is essential to squeeze the best out of this camera, vignetting on the Tak FSQ106 is minimal at f/5. A great camera, look forward to see your results with it.
