Happy and excited today for two reasons
1.My Moonlite focuser is back and ready for action
2.Im on leave as from today

Posted earlier that the original focuser i received the adapter didn't fit the visual back for my SCT, unfortunately had to ship it back to the US where it was found to be .001" out . Ron Newman the Moonlite Accessories proprietor
was great with fast feedback and customer service , for the inconvenience he added a Lazyfocus PC interface unit which I'm grateful for as a bonus but i was more then happy with the service rendered which is great to see .Anywhys im eager to use it , if only this strange cloud cover would dissappear Perth isnt supposed to have cloud in Dec

Beren, I see you have the Peterson Mounting Assistant,
I've got one for my LX90 a great investment for people like me who have to separate/un-separate fork from tripod on a regular basis.

I brought the peterson mounting plate within the first week I had my scope , putting a 5k scope on a tripod where you cant see what you doing was a scary experience . Great investment

Strange coincidence last night after a week or so of lousy night skies mother nature turned on a good one - aside from the brisk breeze/moon- so i could try the moonlite. The focus travel range on the Moonlite is somewhat short so depending on what eyepiece you drop down to or up some adjustment on the SCTs coarse focuser is required . The range in speeds is excellent , from top variable speed to minute pulse adjustments its quite nifty { the meade microfocuser at top speed is quite slow in comparison to the Moonlite , for example getting a max diffraction pattern inside/outside focus with the meade is slothlike with the moonlite its virtually instant} . The focusers handbox has two knobs where you can adjust the speeds by either turning clockwise/anticlockwise, easy to pickup on but for general exhibition to the public could be tricky , its a shame that it doesn't have manual capability.First target was Mars in the early evening twilight , seeing conditions looked to be great and finally I was able to use my 6mm radian with success for the first time with the SCT.Nice positive feel with focusing where you could step down in speed and match the conditions , tried some ToUcaming as well on Mars and Moon . The focusers adapter also allows the full 3'1/4 opening of the visual back of the larger meade scopes be unobstructed , much like the peterson eyeopener accessory, i really couldnt note any difference though . All up very happy

No worries .... being mindful of being subjective and not trying to justify the price paid for it Im very happy with it , the positive feel of stepping down in speed for good focus is excellent with practically no image shift and being able to keep your attention at the eyepiece without referring to the Autostar pad is nice
