Butterfly beauty

Been watching the clouds for three nights now so went out and did some macro today.

This is a Butterfly which I believe is some type of skipper. Not very well focused I'm afraid.

re butterfly

Nice to see,Its a 'blue' in this case a Plumbago blue (Leptotes plinius)

also know more commonly as zebra blue.

Skippers are much faster, harder to catch and photograph, and have their

back wing protruding on the outside of front wing, rather than tucked underneath it.

hope this helps.Chris

Nice one Frank - I normally see these guys with their wings closed so you did well to capture the shot you did

Eye focus is soft but overall a great attempt. How close did you get and what lens? Thanks.

Ian,

I was very close and I use a Canon 100mm L macro on a 5D MarkII. I'm still only learning about macro and especially processing and sharpening.
