Orion Nebula - First light TSA102

Well after waiting for a long time there were couple of good nights this weekend allowing me to spend 3 consecutive nights almost sleepless (mostly spent on horsehead with ha).

This a stack of 6x 15min = 90min data. Core is blown out but for some reason I always preferred Orion with core burnt (probably because i still need to master layering in PS).

Well what can i say

all I can say is scope wise the difference is huge for me after using SW ED80/120 for a year or so.

Scope TSA102 @7.84 with Flattener
QHY8
Image scale: 2.01 ArcSec/Pixel
EQ6 guided with ED80
(phd, nebulosity, PS CS)

This is a quick process. I will try update the post with a repro of Orion with all the data and after getting some sleep.

Ah yes but isn't it wonderful feeling tired knowing you have had a productive period

This initial process looks good.

I am also of the camp that struggles to accept processing bright blown out areas so that they aren't, I think it is a throw back to my film days where that was totally expected and accepted. David Malin was really the first to change this perception with his early unsharp mask work but amateurs just dismissed it as out of their league. Now days with all the great digital gear and software it is a no brainer

Nice image for sure. Guiding looks great. Processing is very smooth too. Layering is fairly easy though and it would really make this image. I have a TSA shot from this year. I went quite deep on the whole complex and I reckon you could do the same too. I like this image and it is nice to look at too.

Thats a fine effort there, Id be very happy with it. I am not experienced enough to offer constructive criticism if in fact it needs any, and whenever I look at astrophotography I look at the picture like I would any other photo .. and this looks like a great picture to me.

Thank you everyone for the comments and feedback. Yes its a wonderful feeling when the data comes good with round stars after spending the night awake.

Thank you Paul, yes I am a regular visitor on your site, and like your images. i would like to go deeper but I guess I will have to wait a bit longer for another opportunity. Orion is still a bit too low from my backyard only clearing my roof after 3AM and Not having a perm setup most of the time are still spent on setting up and aligning.
