can anyone tell me if PE 7 has the requirements for astro processing.

Yes...but it's not quite the same as a full-blown version of PS.

For starters, you don't get an instant mask added when you make an adjustment layer. There's a workaround, but it's something to keep in mind.

A few other differences.

It doesn't lend itself as readily to astro as a full version...but it's considerably cheaper, as you'd be aware.

Hidden Elements http://hiddenelements.com/ has many extra features that make PSE7 a very powerful tool. Specifically http://hiddenelements.com/elements7_tools.php

Some tools are free, others are a small fee.
