Purakaunui Falls

I'm still making my way through the hundreds of images captured on my recent trip to NZ.

On our way to the Catlins, between Ivercargill and Balclutha, we stopped off at the much-visited Purakaunui Falls.

It was a great time to visit. The falls were flowing and the sky was grey and hanging heavy with mist.

The whole scene felt heavily saturated and the sound of the gushing falls was truly mesmeric. I felt very close to nature standing on the observation deck, soaking up the sound of the rushing water and native birdsong.

Spewin' I didn't get out that way; I'd have had a field morning/evening!
