Landscapes of the Tatra Mountains, Poland

Hi all,

I was sorting out some old photos again today, and thought these might be of interest to some. These were all taken during my first trip to Poland (to meet my wife's extended family) back in 1998. These shots are all from the Tatry down in the south of Poland.

All images were taken using a Pentax MZ5 and Velvia transparency film, and then the slides were scanned a few years ago.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Stephen

re poland photos

WOW!, thats amazing,i think these are the best photos i have ever seen on ice in space.

the objective of any good photographer is to take a photo that will arrest a passer by in their tracks, and egage their 'grey matter',and keep
them enthralled for a length of time.

these photos are really well taken, the way ones eye is drawn into the distance, fabulous stuff.

Thank you for sharing these.

regards Chris

Thanks for sharing Stephen. My Father was from around that countryside. He was born and lived near Bukowina near the mountains. Until recently I had not realised what wonderful scenery he grew up with, and can picture the kind of cold that he escaped. He told me that when he was a child he dreamed of a place where there was no winter... he came close when he settled in Brisbane.

The Tatras are now a destination I would like to visit. Again thanks.

Tony, the fifth image here (afternoon light on the 3 houses, with the mountains behind) is taken just outside Bukowina! My wife and her family used to stay at Bukowina for a week or two most winters, for skiing holidays, so she was keen to show it to me.

Definately worth a visit!

Cheers,
Stephen
