Vast Nebula - I meant Enormous Nebula

The NGC6188/RCW108 nebula in Norma is really much larger than the prior image shows.

I also have another image of the same area which I've added to the prior image to make an unplanned mosiac image.

These two images together show a larger part of the Norma Nebula, however they probably still show less that a 1/4 of the entire nebula.

I've put a slightly higher resolution image here http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/images...88_mosiacM.jpg

Hmm, h0ughy you've been around too many axe wielding housewives methinks. Nice work Paul, it would be worth trying for overlap to create a large mosaic. What equipment and exposure etc did you use???

Nice one : the salesman told me no one would be able to see the tape!!

Actually I think the gap between the two images should be larger if the images were to be in the right place with respect to each other.

Cheers!

I think it was about 24-minutes of exposure through the 12-inch 'scope. The proper details are at the bottom of this page http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/ngc6188.html

I think next season (when Norma is high again) it would make a good target for some IIS astrophotographers with wide-field equipment.

Regards
