Quick Lulin last night 16th March

Hi,
Well due to a unforeseen circumstances we still havn`t moved and the observatory shall be the last thing packed up!
Managed a quicky between low cloud of comet Lulin through the 8" f/4.6 scope. Only 7 x 150 sec shots with the Canon 20D. Fits nicely in the FOV and it`s getting into some nice starfields as it gets closer to the MW.
Will try again tonight before the moon rises.
cheers and thanks for peeking!
Gary

Great image Gary.
I looked at Lulin with 20x80 binocs at about 10pm AEDT last night and thought it had a tail but it was hard to tell.
On your image the tail is at least 40' long in pa 96. The bright part in the core is mag 10.
The magnitude 15 galaxies on the left of the comet are ICs 2187 and 2188.

That's a very nice image, Gary. A lovely starfield too with old red stars.

Thanks for the info Glen! Thanks Jeanette, Mike and Andrew!
Has faded quiet a bit over the last few weeks for sure. Good to see some clear skies again but!
