A few pics from a beginner

Hi
Having recently purchased a 100ed and heq5 I thought I would have a play with taking some shot through it. I realise that at f9 its not the best for photography and I got it mainly for visual use but as I have a 40d with quite a few lenses I thought 'why not give it a go anyway'. So over the last couple of weeks I have been playing around in my light polluted back yard in Rouse Hill learning the finer art of getting alignment and tracking right (thanks Wayne for your help).

Orion with scope in pic: single 2min shot, iso800, f7 (realised this later ), 50mm (17-50mm)
Sirius & M41: single 36sec shot, iso800, f2.8, 100mm macro lens piggybacked.
M42: 3 x 30sec + darks, iso800 attached to scope.
Orion wide field: 8 x 2min + dark, iso800, 100mm macro lens piggybacked.

I'm no expert at DSS or Photoshop either so I just play with settings and learn as I go at the moment. In fact I still trying to figure out how to fix vignetting in PS as I haven't mastered darks and flats fully yet.

Not bad I quite like the 4th shot with Orion, running man, and flame

Remember it's not how we start but how we end up that counts

I love the last shot.
You got M42, the running man, horse head and flame all in one shot.
Awesome.

Thanks for that.
That 4th shot was done on new years eve and I meant to take them raw but were jpg instead. Bugger and I wasn't drinking much either.
Wont make that mistake next time though.
Will make sure more darks and flats will be done too.
