Nice photo Alex, it looks like a water dragon? We had one of these living in the creek nearby. It used to come into our back garden, showing little fear of humans. One day, it snaffled a grape which I had dropped onto the lawn.

I’ve seen them around the place and they get a reddish tinge to their “beard” during the mating season.
