Couple of Pics from Wiruna New Moon Week-end

Hi all, here's a couple of pics I took last night at wiruna. Sky was awesome. Very dewy night [everything was dripping in water] but the seeing was very good. Tracking was "so..so...". I prioritised dinner over good polar alignment. Who can resist a call to the ASNSW lamb roast?

Both shots are 10x2min ISO800 *istD on ED80 at prime focus. No dark, no flat - stacked in CCD stack and noise reduction in photoshop. No level or curves. As advised and with some help from Barb and David for the camera settings, I managed to get some colours this time - Hopefully last pics from my Pentax. I'm getting a QHY8 delivered next week. Thanks for watching.

G'Day Marc, Nice pictures. You will certainly notice the difference with the QHY8. Don't expect miracles on the first outing with it as it is quite a step up from the DSLR. With a little experimenting it will blow you away what can be achieved.

Good luck and dark skies

Nice shots Marc.

The Omega Centauri shot is very very nice until you get right to the core, It seems a little over blown... Perhaps a few subs at ISO400 or less exposure at 800 would have helped in that respect.

Great pair of images in any event.

Well done.

You're right Alex. I'll have to revisit that one. My subs are kind of burnt in the center

Thanks Doug - When I see the stuff you've done with it lately I can hardly wait to play with it . Should arrive this week hopefully
