A Clear Night

Had a short viewing last night, 9.15 to 10pm but what a clear night!! We have had rain for the past 4 days and last night all that cleared away, leaving pristine skies. Set up the dob, with a 15mm plossl and had a look at Boattini, which was not as impressive as I would have thought, only a brightish smudge; swung the dob on to Eta C and it appeared somewhat brighter than a week ago?? Clearer skies?? Dunno!
Moved on to Antares and M4, clear as!!!. Next it was on to M7 then off to Omega Centauri and NGC 4945. Could see Jupiter rising through the trees but decided another 2 hours to get to viewing altitude was not as valuable as the sleeping time! Plus, the mozzies were practising blood transfusions.
Just a few minutes on each, but what clarity!
Mental note to self: get out earlier tonight AND use the Avagoodweekend
