Moon Spider

This is a spider that I photographed a while back in fullmoon light. it was a bit windy and the web was all over theplace but at the end of the exposure I used a flash to freeze the action.

I reckon that would be a Crab Spider.
Nice "action" shot.

Looks like a Wheel Weaver. They build a new web every night, so if you go into the backyard to observe, you never know where it's going to be. I can't tell you how many times I've felt the web closing around my face...

Good thing they're harmless!

I know them as an Orb weaver and their webs are STRONG. I know that my wife and actually many wives dont care that it is harmless. its hairy and has 8 legs. (insert eardrum bursting screem here). I can recommend watching one of these spiders laying or spinning there web. They are FAST.
