Comet Leonos - Nov 10

Hi All,

The skies cleared but i was not sure for how long so i just setup the EOS 400D on a tripod and snapped away some shots.

The following shot is cropped section from a DSS staked image of 35x5sec ISO1600 frames shot with camera lens set to 300mm @ F5.6. I used Jupiter to focus the camera with a few shots then I did some test shots to see what max exposure length would limit star trails. 5sec was the max i could do with a fixed tripod. I manged to capture the small green looking dot in the image, unfortunately no tail. I am still learning the processing side of this.

Regards
Fahim

Cool - its a nice green colour isn't it..... I just tried tonight, but my western horizon is utter rubbish - neighbours house etc, couldn't get any decent shots in reasonable darkness before it set behind the obstruction....

Thanks Lee, my western horizon is the same very light polluted.
Here is a reprocessed cropped version. I just messed around with a few things mostly auto settings.

Good work Fahim !
It's very difficult when you're limited to 5 sec subs and a fixed tripod, you've done well to pick up the nice green hue.
