19 June 2007 Venus, moon and Saturn

WHAT LUCK, the clouds parted this afternoon just in time to get a view of this spectacle. AND its very cold too. didn't get to see the final bit when Saturn was very close to the moon, but I have at least seen something.

OK canon 400D very standard on a tripod trying hard not to wobble in the breeze, sigma 18-125mm lens and no bulb, just the timer function. the first couple were handheld, as I couldn't believe my luck

Nice work Dave - driving home I saw some clear skies to the north and saw the sun for the first time in weeks. It didn't last long.

Well done, first clear skies for a long time. I saw the moon as I was heading off for the Newcastle Space Frontier Society meeting

thanks Roger and Andrew. I was so excited I saw anything I tried heaps of settings. there was some high and low cloud though that tended to bloat the images.

too much exposure and reflections of the lens and the sky haze filter and I held my tongue in the wrong position
