M20 - Trifid

Been a while since I have posted any images, so as seem as the skies have been so clear this week I took some pictures and crunched some data

Hope you like, I might tune up my Meade SN-10 and start taking more images.

darks, flats and bias also used all stacked in DSS.

Cleaned up and adjusted in PS using Astronomy Tools.

Equipment

Baader MPCC MK III
Bintel 8" Newtonian (finely tuned, took some time)

Nice work Carl,
Very smooth and almost no noise - that’s what plenty of subs will do! ✅great image with plenty of star colour and fine nebulosity.
Anthony.

What Anthony said - lots of great colour in there, and you can see all the subtle shading in the gas/dust clouds.

Great effort.

Beautiful image, Carl. Rich colour (in the stars too), subtle detail and nice framing. Bet it took a while to crunch 495 subs! Alex

Thank you for your kind words John, Alex, Steve and Anthony. I have to keep my subs short for light pollution in amp glow Brisbane. Data is data and I noticed the detail change from day 3 to day 4. It took those first 300 subs until the detail really popped

Alex, not too bad. About 30 minutes as I use my beast gaming computer to do the crunching, I think my astro computer would take a while

Clear Skies
