Jupiter (Adelaide) - 11/5/07

First attempt at Jupiter this season with my 8" Newt on the EQ6 using the Toucam.

200/1000 frames
1/33sec exposure
Brightness 50%
Sats 80%

One of the moons can be seen. I can't remember which one it was

Well done, nice shot! You should probably try reducing the gamma or curves to give it a bit more depth, it's a little bit bright (at least on this laptop).

Nice job!

A great way to open your Jupiter season. Along with Mike's advice, I'd probably try a run at a reduced exposure of 1/25 sec to give you more latitude with the Gain and compare it with the run at 1/33.

Also, I think that most ToUcam operators also set the Saturation to 100% IIRC?

Very nice detail and good focus.

Cheers

Dennis

Yeah wasnt a bad night that, from where we were in Wallaroo we were seeing around 7.5/10 seeing. Transparency was about 9/10

Nice image there too, lots of detail.

Thanks for the input. I actually did have gamma set to minimum. I will take on board the other suggestions though. Just need the sky to clear again

I'm talking about gamma in post-processing, or curves reduction in photoshop (for example).
