HEQ5 backlash problem

Im noticing something new with my mount which i suspect is 'backlash'. Basically when i make small adjustments in RA using the hand controller the object that im centering seems to go back in other direction slightly after each adjustment. This can be pretty irritating. Is there a way to counter backlash in my mount? i know that there is a backlash menu in the goto controller, but i dont know what it does. It looks as if its got degrees, minutes, and seconds, but i dont know what adjusting it will do. any thoughts??
Matt

Hi Matt
I have 3.12 firmware.
After the upgrade, I had to change the backlash from 0.2.0 to 0.0.2.
This cured my slight correction.
Hope it helps

Adrian

On my EQ6 Skyscan version 2.5a Hand controller, the backlash settings are just numeric, not decimal. The manual says if backlash exists and you don't know where to set it, just set it at 5000. I noticed a small amount remaining in RA after setting at 5000, so I set it at 6500 and it has practically vanished
