Strange structure near NGC 5084

Hi guys. This is such an incredible and informative place for deep sky imaging, with so many highly dedicated enthusiasts. I've been following the forum every day and this is my first post. Now I picutred a weird struture when I was imaging NGC5084 two years ago. I asked Bintel and they suggested it might be ESO 576-40. I thought of redoing this target again last year but somehow didn't make it. Early this year though, I saw a report about a mysterious radio signal/image by NASA, https://edition.cnn.com/2022/03/24/w...scn/index.html, which looked a bit similar to what I imaged. Yesterday I re-visited the targe area again, and got some 5.5 hour of data, about 4 hours of L and half hour each RGB, Skywatcher 250F4, ASI1600mm, iOptron CEM60, at a dark site north of Sydney. I still couldn't identify what it might be. Maybe you guys would know better. Cheers, John

Hi John....Great photo btw...but i just did a quick search with stellarium, and i believe that object to be PGC 46491 or another name ESO 576-32

If you want to learn about astrophotography IIS is right up there.

Regards to the weird structure, probably some alien lifeform

Seriously, do a plate solve and see what that brings.

Thanks very much ideed. It appeared that PGC 46491, ESO 576-32, or ESO 576-40 were in the same region. I wasn't sure about this when Don first told me it was ESO 576-40 which seemed to appear in a different region when I first looked it up in Stellarium. Scaling up a bit now it appeared to be the right location. However I still was puzzled that I couldn't seem to find any images of it, given the fact it wasn't the faintest or smallest object in that part of the sky, particularly with a skull-like structure which resembled the mysterious NASA image in some sense.

Yep, it's ESO-576-32. Stellarium has it if you use the right Survey
