Venus 15 April L-UV

The seeing was a little better yesterday, and I also managed to deploy the cass.

After doing the UV run, I tought the seeing might actually warrant an attempt at colour (my 2nd so far). What I didn't have have a lot of was time, and given how featureless the IR channel had been these last few months, I decided on a slightly different approach. If both the visual band and NIR are similarly featureless but resolution suffers at longer wavelengths, there's really no need to do the latter. So I skipped the IR and took a visual shot instead. The result is this Luminance-UV blend. Given who Venus is, LUV is more apt anyway

Given we are losing the outer planets down South in the coming years, I may need to invest in a Venus Filter. Like you, or at least in this instance, I have never had any success with my stock IR filters in seeing cloud features and very limited success with a basic blue filter.
