M20

I dusted off my ED 80 Pro and this is its first light in 10 years! HEQ5 Pro F7.5 600mm Focal Length of the M20 Trifid Nebula with L Extreme and L pro stars. 130 x 240 sec + 20 x 240 sec. I used a non powered Astro Tech Flattener (no reducer) with ASI 533 MC Pro. The Asi Air Pro makes everything much easier!

Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

Astrobin https://astrob.in/3l7jf8/B/

(To get closer I chose not to use a reducer but just a flattener - guiding worked out ok)

Thanks

Not to bad Paul

7/10 from me

Needs a crop, some wonky stars and the blue is missing.

Good effort

Paul,
Good effort but missing reflection ( blue ) and dark nebula
Just a hint
The L Extreme doesn’t work well on the Trifid due to having emission , reflection and dark nebula all in one , buggers up your objects colours and Star colours using the RGGB OSC . Ends up predominantly red
Try the Trifid again in the dark with no filter or just a luminance and it will surprise you
Cheers

I know exactly what you mean. I took about 20 x 240sec with L-Pro to merge the stars into the L Extreme. You can see way more blue and Dark Nebula just in that short integration time using the L-Pro
