Galaxy ID Please

Last night I was galaxy searching in Cetus and came across a Galaxy which I can't identify on any of my charts.

I have drawn an arrow with a red circle on the chart below in the general area where I saw it.

Can anyone identify the Galaxy for me and give me the catalogue number please.

It's most likely NGC 337.

Hi Barb. Could you upload a map with a bit more contrast and size? I find it very difficult to see on my laptop.

Looks like NGC341.

uranometria FE map 262 around - 9 degrees.. maybe .. could never hope to find these from home but the book says they are there

NGC 341A has a visual mag of 13.0 and dimentions of 1.2x1.1 arcmin. NGC 341B is much fainter at 15.8 and is 0.3x0.2 arc min.

Thanks.......Too many to choose from in that area. Could be ngc337 or ngc274. 274's 12 plus mag though

After a lot of checking on different charts I think the galaxy may be 155 or 163. The Star Atlas Pro from John G seems to make me lean towards those two. Getting my bearings from NGC246 Nebula and Eta Ceti the others that have been mentioned don't seem to be in the direction I was in.

Any idea the mag of these galaxies and are they within the scope of the f5

Have to wait for another good night to check it out again

Here is a 15 degree spread centered on NGC 155.

NGC 155, Mag: 13, No size given, Desc: Pretty Faint, Very Small, Round

NGC 163, Mag: 12.8, Size: 1.40', Desc: Very Faint, Very Small

Thanks everyone.

On that night I was just cruising a portion of the sky just to see what I could find and came across this particular galaxy. Until posting this thread I didn't know that there were so many other galaxies in that area.

I guess I need to wait for good conditions again and spend a lot of time at the EP to gather as much detail on the galaxy as I can. Although it is a little faint so I hope I can detect some form or shape.

I've printed out some images from the net of a few of the galaxies some of you have mentioned that are in the locality, and I hope this helps me identify which one it is.

Don't know how I'll go but I'll give it a go and hope I can post an ID soon
