"Space Race" by Deborah Cadbury was a great read. It really puts what the Russians had to work with in perspective, and from that I now have a heap of respect for Korolev - their head rocket designer who never receieved adequate credit.

Must try and remember these ones tonight, most likely forget.

We should make the Korolev award for the most economical engine for space travel

Actually it would be worthwhile checking your TV guides, it's DST in Tassie at the moment so your times may be an hour different.

The Space Race was a great program.
As a lead designer in an Engineering office, it sends a shiver down my spine, to see what the engineers& Designers in the Soviet Rocket progam faced.
If my projects go over budget or fail to work, I get a slap on the wrist & a please explain.
If these guys fail, its off to the Gulag !

well if you liked the first segment of the TV show, can I say that the book will absolutely fascinate?

The book was a brilliant read. In terms of production value, the show looks very promising. I can't wait for the development of the Vostok rocket program - I've never seen images, real or dramatised, of that great piece of engineering.
