Quick Trifid

Hi All,

Just a quick M20 with my 1000D as I haven't done anything for a while and I have no filters for my 314L+.

15 x 6min subs, 15 darks, guided with the 8" newt and 1000D.

Thanks for viewing. ( i know its a little out of focus, too cold to go out and adjust ).

Very nice Goran. It's interesting that your image was the result of much
more exposure time than a typical one of mine, and naturally the red in your image is much more pronounced, but the blue is much less
saturated than mine. Was that deliberate?

Thanks Ray,
I noticed that too. Not sure why, but the blue is more visible straight off of DSS. either way, it's not very pronounced so I don't know if it's the modded camera or what. I'll have to have another go at it with photoshop (don't have PI anymore)

Goran.

Whoops, I didn't notice your camera is modded. Apparently modded cameras overwhelm colours other than red.

Goran, I'd try doing the alignment/registration again - you can see from the double diffraction spikes that things are slightly out of kilter, which will introduce some blur.

Goran. Thats an amazing shot.

Newbie question: did you have the mirror locked when you took those exposures? was this done using your laptop?
Thank you

Thanks Barry, I'll have another look but I think the single subs have the same issue, so I'm not sure it's a stacking thing. Although, I am starting to wonder if something else is physically out of alignment because I always have issues on the same side of all my frames.... Something to investigate I guess.

Niv you are too kind.
I assume you mean my focuser , no my focuser was not locked. It might have moved but it is a pain to lock as doing so changes the focus anyway
I took the images with my laptop connected for control etc but it was processed on a desktop.

Goran.
