for sale -90 deg 7 x 50 finderscope

Mounted on my 5 inch Newt once and then removed after a short period of time, as the scope has been used only as a guidescope so I didnt need a finder on it..so actually used in the open only once

Purchased from overseas

russian objective, red coated I am not sure what that means

What I liked
-optics appear great -at least to me
-the eyepiece can be interchanged - though I have never done so myself

things i didnt like:

-the base is flat, not a dovetail- which made it hard to mount on a solid tube scope-I glued a strip of rubber which is still there but could be removed

(i had to drill holes in my scope and use bolts)

-the cross wires are thick and made of plastic not thin wire
however there is a gap in the centre, the plastic cross pieces do not continue all the way--see photo showing rear of eyepiece that explains it better. Course as i said the eyepiece can be changed

-the finder and the mount are solid metal casting-however the casting is a bit crude..not that it matters from function just appearance may upset someone fussy

-being a casting the finder is heavy!

would $40 plus postage sound reasonable?

Any questions please ask. I will wait a month and if no interest put it up for sale on Ebay
