This was taken a couple of years ago, just found it browsing through my archives. One of many amateurish attempts to capture the feel of some of the pretty places around the South Island.
NZ is a bit like a total solar eclipse. It's a must-see, and until I did, I had no idea how insanely spectacular it was.
Thanks guys. Those are the Darran Mountains. They provide many serious mountaineering routes, and their 1000+ metres near-vertical cliffs are hugely impressive. On a side note, Milford Sound being NZ's "Ayers Rock", this place is best visited later in the day or at night, if you want the place to yourself.
