Exclamation Takahashi EM-200 (price reduced!!!) [SOLD]

As you all know I have an EM-200 for sale... it created lots of interest but still no sale yet.

My 'new' mount is here and I want it gone!

Here the deal:

You get:

- EM-200 mount with original electronics
- 5Kg counterweight
- Half the postage
(no tripod)

I get:

- $2900

Optional you can have an adapter cable that allows you to use an ST-4 (or equivalent) auto guider... $150

The deal is not negotiable!

Here the specification of the mount again:

Mount weight: 15kg + Counterweight
Load capacity: 16kg for photographic use 20kg for visual use
Polar axis finder: Polar axis finder scope with alignment pattern for northern and southern hemisphere good until 2015, built in illuminator and built in bubble level
Periodic worm shaft error: less than +/-5”

What do you need to make the mount Goto Steffan if it isn't already?

To convert the mount to a goto-mount you basically have two options.

A)
You send it to Takahashi and they will convert it to the TEMMA2 GOTO (700x).

That is not cheap (my guess is about $2000 to $3000) but way cheaper then a new EM-200 TEMMA2.

B)
You buy a set of aftermarket stepper motors (about $900) and an aftermarket GOTO-controller (about $900-$2000, depending on the controller you choose) for GOTO up to 900x.

Theoretically speaking you can have GOTO once you add the controller to original motors, but that would be so slow that I would not call it GOTO, it’s more like WAITTO.

I hope this answers your question.
