Kangaroos and Dishes in the Moonlight

There were literally hundreds of kangaroos spread around the ATCA site - many with joeys in the mothers pouch. They were great to watch around sunset, and I was surprised to see so many of them still around at night - they appeared jumping around in many of my nightscapes and timelapses.

The bright Moon lights the scene. Canon 6D, 24-70mm lens, 42mm f/2.8, 13s exposure.

- Large

Thanks for looking.

Thumbs up

Superb, in February-March 2013 I've toured all observatories of New South Wales and Australia Telescope Compact Array at Paul Wild Obs - Narrabri was the first place where I saw kangaroos in the wild... sitting in the shadow of the trees near the visitor center
Afterwards also saw kangaroos at Mount Stromlo, ...
Australia is an amazing continent with pitch dark night skies
