Just spent 10 minutes fetching quotes for delivery to my nearest depot. As expected hardly anyone would courier such a large package and no one would courier it for less than $100. And I don't have a trip to Melbourne planned anytime soon!

Ah well, I hope you find a buyer soon trek.

Hi,
if its any help to anyone, there are quite a few sites you can organize delivery with for less than $60. I use interparcel and I got an 8" Dob, very similar to this one delivered from sydney to melbourne for $50. They used TNT road exp.
I also just got an EQ6 in two large wooden boxes from Perth to melb for $65, again with TNT road exp using interparcel. size and weight shouldn't be an issue. just needs to be boxed.
Cheers

Hi Mark,

I've been advised that this might be a good scope for me (by one of the other forum members)... I tried to PM you but it says I can't.
Just a few questions, I live in Hoppers Crossing, is this anywhere near your travel path?
May I ask why you are selling it?
I currently have an old refractor telescope and have only used my dad's Dob briefly, are there any tips or advice you could give to the use of the scope (or does it come with a manual), as I understand it they are quite easy to use but I also understand that they need to be set up to begin with, is this tricky?
I guess finally, are there any issues with the Dob?
If you can deliver and are happy to do so, what days/times would be workable?

Thanks for the heads up, the quote they gave was cheaper than the other places. I might use them in the future!

Sorry to take your thread off topic Mark.

Hi
I live in the eastern suburbs and I don’t mind driving to Hoppers Crossing. It does come with a manual and it explains how to collimate it and that’s about it as it’s a very simple scope to use. I’m selling it because I’ve only used it twice since purchase and I still have the receipt.
Regards Mark

In that case Mark... I'd like to purchase your scope. I'll send you a text once my phone is off charging (should be about two or so hours, so around 6ish?).

Sorry to anyone else who was interested... I received the Dob today, thanks again Mark (looks like the clouds have rolled in so might have to delay first light )
