Church at Norton Summit in the Adelaide Hills

While in Adelaide, Rally and I drove up Norton Summit in the Adelaide Hills and found this church. Only 15 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, and seriously light polluted to the south, but still dark enough for some nightscapes.

We were lucky - the church is usually lit by an enormous floodlight, but on this night it wasn't on!

In the 2nd and 3rd shots there was a big floodlight behind me lighting up a hotel or something but spilled out onto the church. There's also an Iridium Flare in the second one.

The streaky clouds in the first one give a nice 3D feel! Which one do you like best?

- Large 2

Thanks for looking.

Lovely shots.

#2 would be my favourite - colour, framing and subject inclusions - the Iridium flare is a nice addition.

#3 would be a close second - better sky, but the floodlight pole detracts somewhat from the subject. (Edit: Actually, if the pole wasn't there, #3 would be my favourite).

What lens were you using (if you don't mind me asking)?

#3 for me Mike because I think that the distortion is less striking.

Great shots Mike! My favourite by far is #2 the red stained glass at the rear of the church adds drama and mystery ... what's going on in there???
