A black Skywatcher 200mm (8") f5 newtonian reflector.
Comes with the Skywatcher proprietary fittings for 1.25" and 2" barrel eyepieces. Also the Skywatcher white tube rings and a "Vixen" dovetail rail to mount them on.
See photos.
Not included: no mount, no eyepieces, no finderscope. It doesn't have a cooling fan fitted.
I'm not sure how old it is. I bought it from a member back in 2011 (I think it was), for a project, but have decided not to use it. Visual image was fine the few times I have looked through it. I would class it as being in very good condition.
At the moment, pickup only - Mona Vale area, Sydney.
Was $330, was $300, now $280.

Reason: Back on the market
Cheapest price I've seen for the current 8" Skywatcher f5 reflector is $530; highest is $610. (yes, including the finderscope which I haven't got.) Not sure if the scope I have for sale is a "Black Diamond" model or before that - I'm not super familiar with Skywatcher models. It looks the same?
Yup looks like a BD to me They're great scopes for beginners looking into Astrophotography or as light visual scope, I had the older 'blue' colored one. Easily fits onto a standard EQ5 mount too. Hope you sell it soon!
Yes, thanks Meru, it sits comfortably on an EQ5 which is the GE mount that I use. Add a DSLR and you are in business for astrophotography. Or a short 1.25" or 2" extension tube and you have visual observing.
Goodness, you are a difficult bunch to satisfy. This is a very good scope for well under new price.
OK, last price drop to $280.
This is the pickup and inspect price.
If someone has been holding out for me to offer to ship, please PM me and we'll talk. I'm much happier for a buyer to inspect and test it out before purchase so I'd like to explain that. I'll have to decide a price if I am to ship that covers the additional risks to me (plus the actual cost of shipping on top of that).
I'll give it a few more days then take it off the market. It can stay snug and dry and warm in the garage until it becomes a valuable sought-after item.
With regards to post #11 regarding the best mount, you are correct, the HEQ5 Pro is the minimum you should go with this tube, I have the exact same scope on an HEQ5 Pro and if I load anything else on it, it would struggle with all the mass....
No local offer to buy, unfortunately, so the scope has gone into storage to "mature" for the next five or so years. Maybe then I'll have a use for it (likely no) or see if there is a buyer then.
