Just my opinion, but the APO 2.5x is only $49.

They only sell this one and the 2" one which doesn't fit my telescope. So What do I do??

Just doing my part for Andrews

I tend to be very shy over the phone as well, but once you talk to them you realise they are just every day ppl, not intimidating at all

I can vouch for the excellent service, and confirm that they will accept direct debit (i.e. bank transfer) for payment.

They provided great service too when I had issue with my EQ5PRO, so I would definitely buy from them again.

Cheers,
Steve

Andrews ordering

Hallo there,
I live in the country, far western NSW and have ordered a number of items over the phone. Never had any problems. They are really helpful and efficient.

Hope it helps

Tony, just get the 1.25" achromatic barlow. It will serve you very well until you are ready to upgrade your scope, oneday, .

Hi Tony,

Yes, there is a 1.25" version of the 2.5x APO barlow on the GSO page

2.5x magnification, 1.25", fully multi-coated,3 element apochromatic $49.00

Follow this link http://www.andrewscom.com.au/site-co...-guansheng.htm

And then scroll down to the barlows.

This is the one I meant before. $20 more than the achro, but worth it.

Cheers

Chris

The email address provided by a person who registers a domain name is publicly available. You can find them on websites such as whois.com and the Australian equivalent. This is how I found out their email address last year. Lee answers emails fairly quickly.

It does not have to be. For a fee most registrars will hide all the email addresses and even names.

I bought one of those.
I've used it once.
5x is just tooooo much.
I have 3 barlows, the one that gets the most use is my 2x Big Barlow. I've doubled up, adding another 2x barlow to the train. It was a night of near perfect seeing, Saturn at 1000x magnification!!! But nights like that are very rare indeed.

Have to agree - Unless you are doing some planetary imaging with a webcam, a 5x barlow is not going to be very useful

Yes, but they usually give an email address that is redirected to the person who registered the URL. Andrews do not use this service. Also some, like the one that I use, do not have a fee for private registrations.

I have had a looked at the Andrews site and compaired prices and they seem quite good. I have no problem talking over the phone either. I think they should do a bit more work on their web site however as it is their first point of customer contact. Things like a Frequently Asked Questions page and when they take products off their web site they should fix up the dead links. Maybe after a sale they could answer questions about the product via email too.... and for a Naglar or two I would gladly fix all of the above lol
