i presume you have photoshop

use IMAGE....ADJUSTMENTS....LEVELS....t hen the centre eyedropper and click it around the image (usually in a peice of dark sky) and see the changes.

or you can duplicate the layer, select IMAGES..... ADJUSTMENTS.... AUTO COLOR and the blend as color. worth a try.

i havent had a tinker with your image, often by the time it gets here its beyond real repair and needs attention earlier to really reap the benefits.

look forward to seeing QHY8 shots.

cheers clive
i do but have not processed in photoshop yet. as for the qhy shots - october IISAC

interestingly I have processed Alan Meehan's Data just to see what the difference is, same camera type, different scopes - his is a meade Sn10".

Stacked in DeepSky Stacker, then saved into photoshop and saved as a 32 bit Tiff, then processed with PixInsight 1.56 - then resized for here in photoshop. i will note that i have calibrated my laptop monitor with Spider3Elite. So is there a difference....

Dave,

You've set the Hourglass on fire, lol!

I'm not sure what's happened but to me it looks like you've process something between an 8-bit and 16-bit image!

Regards,
Humayun

Nice going Dave, many have already given you what sounds like sound ideas so have another go at it, try Scotty too.

I like the framing

Hi all
Heres my processing effort on Alan's data
Calibrated in Deep Sky Stacker with the flats darks and bias frames, finished off in Photoshop
I note the skies were very dark as the subs show so much detail. Thats why Ive pushed it so hard getting all the faint detail
Scott

Great Scott! you deffinitely used the Flux Capacitor here mate

You have revealed that faint dusty overlay around the Lagoon that Tom Davis was revealing in his image recently, way to go

No harm in that Al, many a fine partnership like this have been formed before eg: Misty and Mazlin, Carbone and Parker even Pugh and Gendler did a few...so why not Meehan and Alder? Go for it
