Looking through your past posts, i realize that you were once a 'noob' and flicking through your photos from your beginnings here on the forum, i can really say that you've inspired me a lot and have given me faith that I can too, be able to capture these great and marvellous images one day.
Any tips for a newbie? hehe

Hi thongus, welcome to IIS. that Celestron NGT8 is the baby version of my NGT10. great scopes! would you know the focal ratio?
thanks for your comments. we all were once a 'noob' . Just takes time to gradually improve and learn from mistakes. First step i would recommend is to research on what type of photography you want to do, whether it will be planets or deep space stuff. research on all the used terminology and understand what it means. I started off with a Meade DSI-C and joining group discussions on yahoo as well as asking for advises here . The DSI-C is a great beginners camera and you'll have plenty of fun with it esp deep sky stuff and a lot of "wow" factor.
Bintel currently have a sale on these cameras for $150 (i have no affiliation with Bintel) . or you can go the filter pro version which takes abit of mucking around .
You will also need a firm steady mount with tracking for deep sky stuff. there are alot of posts about what mounts ppl should be using. search around and you'll find alot of info about them
Feel free to ask away.
