Thanks Paddy. I will study this and work at it. I think all of the excitement in the reading built me up and I've just got to give it patience and time behind the EP.

Malcolm, thanks again for the advice. I thought the 25mm was pretty good, so happy that I'm not dreaming. The 10mm whilst a little uncomfortable has been ok. Certainly allowed me to see Saturn a little closer.

Given I now have the Andrews 2" 30mm, I can't wait to give that a go, and am getting a 6mm TMB, so I will get to compare that to the 10mm. But I might hold up on the purchasing (still keen for the Barlow, despite all the advice) and get some eye training happening.

Now, just to find some of the pretty stuff... (it's ok, ive got some great threads open about what I should start out trying to find so I don't give up too fast).

Cheers,

Raj

I reckon for practice in seeing detail, you can't go past the Tarantula nebula NGC 2070 in the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Eta Carinae nebula - they are more complex than M42 and will show a lot of detail in your scope.

Ok thanks Paddy,

Will give it a go. When I put the details of my scope/EPs into Stellarium it isnt clear about what it presents, but I know the proof is in the seeing, so I will definitely be hunting it/them down soon

Cheers,

Raj
