Be brutal - Rosette Nebula HaRGB

Hi,

I am after ways to improve my HaRGB stacking ability. This was taken with my W/O Flt 110 and consists of 3 hours Ha at 10 minute subs with darks and flats applied to all. Then 1 hour of each RGB. Camera was QHY-9 mono at -20c. I googled and found Color Imaging of Nebulae using Hydrogen-Alpha Data by: Robert Gendler.
I processed Ha, R, G, B and then stacked the Ha on top of the red layer and set the opacity to 50%. Then I flattened this combination and made an Ha/R with G and B. then I coloured balanced as best as I could but found the Ha/R histogram was huge and broad compared to the G and B. I then did some curves and levels with some other basic colour adjustments.
It is my best Rosette and am happy but am always keen for advice.

Thanks.

Mark

Nice shot Mark.

I admire what you've done.

I still haven't had the courage to try RGB, let alone combine it with Ha!

Good luck.

Ross.

Another version toned down

I went back and looked at my progress during processing and went back about 4 steps so it is toned down with some other adjustments.

I dont mind the harsh red, the second image looks better as the background is a little darker. I wont comment on the green splodge , the internal detail is clear and well defined.
