How have you got around the Astrotrac slipping / moving on the geared head plate where they connect? Would be keen to know as this was a problem for me at Astrofest?

I haven't contacted Astrotrac yet. Does the brass insert on the back of yours spin when you tighten it up the screw on the plate? If not, then there is something amiss with mine.

Didn't want to distract you from your preps - I can quiz you later on about it... good luck with the chase and I am looking forward to your pics and vids

ok here are the stats each of us has a 10kg carry on and 40kg check in limit.

Mr Meehan in the red corner, bags packed and dry 9.8kg for the carry on and 39.9kg for the two check in bags.

Mr Hough in the blue corner has 9.98 carry on and 39.99 check in with 2 bags.

had to scrimp and cull a few items such as clothing and toiletries and some batteries but i got there in the end. Originally i was 7 kg over

all up we will have 6 cameras, a couple of point and shoots 3 computers tripods. I cant wait to get this all working on the real deal......... I am so looking forward to this.

So you're saying that if we see an unshaven naked guy with a starlapse , we should come over and say hello to you?
Good luck
