Sol full disk mosaic 28 October 2012

Average seeing conditions again yesterday but processing makes a big difference.

Finally getting the etalon tuned more to my liking and I am reasonably pleased with this image and level of detail.

Some nice active regions in view with lots of magnetic field lines to be seen. Filaments are quite interesting too.

On the limb is quite a few nice prominences with a lovely hedge row at the top of the image.

I am trialling not doing a proms run, but seeing must be good to get the most detail. As you can see the proms look a little blurred and that is due to the seeing.

A great image Paul. Interesting that the inner detail of the sunspots almost looks like white light.

Paul,
Very good mosaic indeed ! It is detailed and sharp and at the same time smooth. Very nice color palette also.

Thanks for the view,

Fernando

Thanks guys.

Yes Ivan I have noted that larger resolution scopes seem to give this view a lot. My 60mm did not always give this view. Perhaps also the spots are getting bigger in size and that contributes to the look.
