Perseids from Italy

I have been going through my shots and videos from my holiday and have compiled this image of meteors captured during the Perseid metoer shower on 12th August 2012 from Vestone, northern Italy.

The images show frames of meteors captured during 2 hours' worth of video at 4 frames/sec, 1/4sec exposure, ISO6400, f/1.4, 24mm on a Canon EOS 600D using Magic Lantern firmware, stacked in Star Trails.

The 4 frames/sec video enables the 1/4sec exposure per frame which allows enough light in to capture some relatively faint meteors, as well as giving some idea of how fast the meteors are travelling.

Here is a video which shows the capture of the brightest meteor of the evening:

And here is a video showing all meteors captured during the 2 hour period. Note the speed difference between the Perseid meteors and the bright sporadic meteor.

Thanks for looking,

Tom
