Maybe for the Northern Hemisphere.

I remember Venus being on the bottom when looking through the glasses.

In terms of the orientation just because it is on lower side when looking at it with your eyes does not mean it is south. Think about it for a moment and think about that being the north pole. It has nothing to do with which hemisphere, the tranist occured over the northern pole.

Interesting...

So is the sun's northern spin axis on the same side as the earth's southern spin axis?

And your photo is not intended as a photo of what it looked like, rather you think of it like a map, where north is always up?

My image is intended to show what the Sun looked like when viewed from space in a north up presentation. North up is the convention.
