from the grounds of morriset psychiatric hospital

I have access to the grounds of the hospital on the west side of lake macquarie near newcastle. The security guard assures me that i am the only person that he is aware of tryng to talk my way in at three am There is quite a bit of reflected light pollution from the vales point power station first two on the 24th the rest on the 25th the last two are stacks of 6 or so all on a tripod with a pentax k-5 through a pentax f 28mm @ f 2.8 the last shot at iso 6400 the rest at 800iso. after starting at the back of three am and then working all day delivering blood(yes even xmas day) followed by family commitments i am happy to have a night off to process and then sleep, hope you are not sick of comet shots yet.............enjoy, well i,m off to bed its work again tomorrow am

You'd have to be a lunatic (pun also intended) to get sick of comet shots, Brad. All great photos, I like the last one the best because it is more contrasty with a darker sky.

Great shots there.
That water is so smooth I would love to be there and carve that up.

I like the shot with the shore in the near foreground, it provides a nice sense of scale, also the silky smooth colour tones seem to balance everything out, in my opinion anyway.

nice work there Brad - i think you would have to be mentally deranged not to be chasing comet shots - but my family already think i am strange

you have a couple contenders for a prize there - excellent work

Brad,

Thoroughly enjoyed this set -- particularly image #1. The colours in that image are particularly soothing. Contrasty compared to where the images were taken from.

thankyou all for your wonderful feed back, i was very scared that the weather would not break on the east coast, it is truly a great experience to witness an event like this. a moment that makes it great to be alive
