Here's all the pics I managed to shoot saturday. Probably pushed the data a little hard but I wanted to see how much dust I'd get. It was clear most of the night. I also did a quick timelapse of the rig here getting some practice before I can try from darker skies.
All shots taken with QHY9 and SMC Pentax M 200mm lens. Most of them are 900s subs.
Marc some stunning shots there ,the horsehead looks great heaps of dust and detail,you have been busy

Thanks Alan. Probably pushed it a little too hard as some stars are ringing. I'm finishing a new set of darks and will recalibrate it. I have changed the QHY9 drivers recently and the old dark library has a different resolution so I can't use it. Stupid drivers.
More cool shots Marc hope Freddo doesn't come down on you for imaging the same things over and over though (think he only gives me a hard time though - I'm so sensitive ...he doesn't know the psycological damage he does to me )
If you flip your IC244 over you will see the Running Chicken nicely
Oh and by the way, I assume they are all Ha images..? if so then there aint no dust in them, it's all hydrogen mate

What's the longer FL u will be trying next that u mention u will be going too ?
Thanks Marcus. I like the rosette too. I want to do a wider and deeper field to see how far the two extensions go. Maybe fit the cone in the same field too.

Thanks Mike. Dust, Ha, all the same to me. While Fred is busy pestering you I might slide in a few M42s of my own (or get a can of Mortein). I got really only one sub on the chook. All other fours were sky flats. I left it a bit too late. I see what you mean about the orientation. Will revisit when I have more data.

Thanks Louie. If I get a chance to get away I'll do some more color yeah, definitely but clear nights are scarce. I'm looking forward to the moon eclipse and try to do something then from Crago. I should be back 100% with my mount in the next couple of weeks so I'll try to escape to Ilford next new moon. How did you and Richard go at the house? Any luck?
Man,that place has changed!I haven't been up there for 20 years Id say...nothing around in those days.
I didn't get anything done myself apart from working out how to get auto focus working in AA5,but Richard got several hours of some nice data on the Witch Head....looking forward to seeing his results.
I was a bit confused about you naming the Rosette NGC2244, but have worked out that refers to the star cluster at it's centre.

Thank you very much Darrin. Fair bit came up so when I mosaic next I know the Barnard loop should stick out nicely. Will probably have to do 20min subs to beat the noise. My pier should be finished this week-end which will make set up and aligning much easier. The hole is done now.
Thanks Trev - Too late in the season I'm afraid but I migh try the whole barnard loop with a 28mm this week-end and also monoceros (rosette + cone). That will give me a good scaffold to know where to shoot next for a mosaic. Weather permitting. Hope I didn't jinx myself saying that.

Dammit, they're ALL my fav. Love the "dust" in Orion, adore the LMC, Rosette is framed wonderfully. And the timelapse is a great backdrop.
