Haha I know, spare time during honours sounds absurd. If I start early enough, I'm hoping I can get some observing done. Otherwise I'll just be happy with some rubylith on my lappy crunching data, watching the stars

UNSW connected waters has a research center out there looking at the groundwater and the wellington caves. One of the mysteries at Wellington is why the Bells river and the Wellington caves have different water levels. So I could be investigating that, however my project is still evolving. One thing I do know is that I will be building a three-dimensional geological model and using that to answer a question.

Exactly
My job as a country GP just keeps me up late at night.
My other hobbies certainly help though as I use a metal lathe and mill. This is very useful for making bits and pieces for the observatory.

My job is very useful to me.

I print out all my star charts, download software I need and chat on IIS.

I look down a high spec optical microscope day to day which has given me an insatiable hunger for good glass.

That might help astronomically?
It certainly helps to keep me in the 'red'!
