Collimation images @1040x

I collimated with the cheshire and did a star test with the vixen at around 250x, everything look ok.

Following the lead, i used the 5x powermate and toucam on an orion star, the middle one of the three, took some vids and then stacked them.

I have the inner defocus and the outer defocus.

Still work to do on my collimation

Davo, best you check collimation through the eyepiece at very high powers ! but not through the toucam mate . If the chip in the camera is not sitting at perfect right angle to the light path I would think you would end up with a result that looks like mis-collimation .

of maybe the 6.5mm plossl, if the vixen does not like an extra barlow??

Yeah this is trickie doing it this way. Like Atlas said you need to check visually first. I do check with the toucam afterwards and record for my own records. However at 1040x if the seeing is average your images will look like this. There will be massive distortions in the image just with the air moving. Still You are heading in the right direction. Collimation at high power is the way to go. Especially if you want to do planetary work.
