Hi folks, had a lovely night last night to get some colour on the lum I had of this from the beginning of the month.
Still manually fucussing.. patiently waiting on a motor controller for my motor focus.. tedious business this tweaking of the knob.

Always loved this area for its mixture of reflection, emission and dark nebula ending in Bok Globules. The lovely golden stars of our galactic crown just seem to enhance these jewels.

For a full res view, follow this link.

Hope you are getting out tonight, I have another clear one... amazing

All the best
Rich

Great star colours, highlights and shadow details that are very hard to capture in other than inky black skies.

An excellent result

Thanks very much Peter. Lots of different areas that needed a little extra attention in processing.

Yes, the fine blue wisps in ic1275 look really nice. I was quite impressed with this.

Actually it might be good during the week too Rich. Plenty of mostly sunny days this week. Might be our turn to get some data happening.

Rich,

Wow, mate. You keep outdoing yourself.

This is an understated image, that has blown me away.

What I also really like about this is your composition.

Awesome work, mate!

Thanks so much Ross. One thing I do like about this image besides the obvious nebula, is the amount of multiple stars around some of the larger stars. Even in the nebs there are some really fine ones. I love seeing them resolved to pin points.

Oh thanks mate!
I've been slowly upgrading certain things on the scope to get to a point where I'm very happy with the performance now. It, of course takes money and time to put it all together. I have just bought the Ex View guider off Gary B and this in turn will lead to me going down the OAG route. I really want to crack my 5min max sub exposure wall to go beyond... be interesting to see how deep this scope can go, especially on those fainter galaxies and to really start to push the data in processing.
I'm glad you liked the framing, I spent a little time to get it so there was a good balance between the two objects, represent the star field and also include the dark neb which I think ties it all in.
Thanks for noticing H!
What's happening with you and your setup?? haven't seen an image from you in a while??

Hi mate,

Being a landscape/terrestrial nerd, composition plays a key part in my imaging, so I take notice.

In fact, part of my talk at AAIC will be on composition.

I've just started imaging again -- work and weather has kept me at bay.

Lovely subtle image Rich with some excellent fine details, love the black river...and once again your sub length contradicts the balone about needing 30min subs

...... ah yes, so much we can learn from our very own planet and it's subtleties when we take the time to look... then apply them to our own lives.

Gol darn work, should be banned!!

Thanks Mike,
pretty much as it came off the SX press ()
A bit of a tweak in areas that needed it and a bit of sat. 'Bout tit.

Yeah, I guess it all comes down to focal length and optics aaaand, some showing off... with extended subs.... shizzen, at the mo I can't get passed the 4min mark... but later when I can afford it will get the oag for something different.

Cheers for now
Rich
