Saturn 25th Feb - above avg seeing

SPX350 F35.3 - 12,360mm, PGRFlea3, Astrodon filter, IR742nm filter.

Seeing was average and got a little better so images are a little soft plus a faint mist possibly. Trying for last time to stretch the 5xPowermate from F34 to F35.3 (0.093"/pix) giving a little larger Saturn - same scale as D Peach/D Tyler from Barbados - but seeing was not up to it. Got the dark patch again moving over the disc, seeing dropped at 1900hrs. Used a little gamma which helped at this longest FL. 60sec per channel.

First image 1540hrs.
Second at 1713hrs.

Thanks, John.

Superb images. I was observing Saturn at the same time and saw similar storm detail in the eyepiece. Seeing here in Melbourne was rather good.

Thanks for letting me re-live those moments!

Cheers,
Alex

Your images look great,John.

I was out last night as well, but I couldn't stay awake any longer, and as I have to pack up everything before shuffling off, I did so just after midnight. I was a bit surprised that I got anything at all as I went down to setup, got aligned, Saturn just crested the house across the road and the clouds rolled in. Half hour later the bank cleared away and I was able to do something.

My efforts are nowhere near as good as yours, but as I'm using an 8"SCT and a webcam, no surprises there. I'm crunching them in Registax on the main machine as I type, but I will post something soon.

Cheers
Tony

Hi John - stunning - the storm looks excellent in image 1 - lots of detail in it! Man your imaging has been great of late - I am not sure if the conditions have improved or you have! Too much time at the scope????
Keep them coming, we all appreciate them!!!

Nice images again John, though they seem rather pink to me. Can probably be fixed easily enough with some colour balance tweaking.

Nice work John. Stunning run of seeing you have been getting. I don't think Brisbane has had such a run for many a year. Make use of that while you can.
