It looks out of focus, but that maybe because the pic hasn't been reduced in size. If you made it 800 x 600 it wouldn't look so pixelated.

Otherwise it isn't too bad a shot

But keep an eye on the focus when you're taking your subs, anyway.

Carl, I do my focus with a Bahtinov mask on nearest star and very careful on centering so Suppose I must be doing something wrong but what or is it the 4x, locked OK when tacking them.

That shot is far from out of focus, you have to remember that the rcx10" + a 4 x Teleview power mate thats a massive focal length, to keep the stars nearly perfect round thats good going!

Nice capture keep up the good work!

Ide suggest that at that level of astrophotography that you should post that into the normal Deep space section definitely worthy!

Ah...no wonder I thought it was out of focus!!!!...sheesh, you're imaging that at 10m!!!!!!

On a DSO, that's what I call game!!!

Now, if that was a planet piccie, that would be ace!!!!

It does look better with a smaller pic, though....looks less grainy

Looks good peter, I had a look on wikipedia for this item, they had a reference to omeara's Caldwell book ( which I have) and can confidently say your image is better than either of theirs. A huge focal length, and quite a challenge, it opens up some real opportunities for further projects.

Pull the guide camera off the guidescope, put it on the 10 inch, use a capture program for the guide camera, do your guiding with a hand paddle while you watch the screen, stack in registax and away you go........ Do the moon first.

That thing is only 38 arc/secs !. Its not out of focus, its tiny!.

Top work on a Meade mount (must be well tuned), youd be hard pressed to do better, excellent.

Nice attempt!
Try to image at lower power though!
Such a high focal length on DSO, is extremely hard to master!
Keep up the good work!!
