This Coastline

This coastline's like a long-lost friend
Giving me grounding once again
Being here with you
There's no place I'd rather be

The Belt of Venus beckons nightfall off the coast of a location north of Sydney.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
1.3s f/16.0 at 17.0mm iso400

Slightly larger version available here.

Comments, critique, etc., most welcome.

Beeooootiful as usual.

PS - still waiting for delivery of my GND filters. Got the holder, the adapter ring and hard GND filters are in stock, but the soft GND filter is still on back-order. It's been a couple of months now, I'm sure.

I've agreed with you in the past about not liking an image Leon, but I must disagree this time!

When are you going to start landscape photography courses H?

I actually think this one is just lovely mate. I think I'll be coming back to look at it a few times.

By gee you are getting around aren't you? Do you actually live in Canberra anymore? I feel so.....deserted...

Baz.

Troy,

Thanks, mate.

Sheesh. Have you got 'em, yet? My experience with S-R was nothing but gold. They sent me out the wrong filter (I was after a thin ring version). As soon as I let them know, they'd already dispatched the correct filter (with 3 day freight) and just asked me to return the one they mistakenly sent me. I received it two days before heading off to New Zealand.

Also, you don't need no stinkin' filter! Do it the way real men do, hand hold. ; )

Shane,

Cheers. Glad you picked up on the softness in the image.

Leon,

That's quite OK. Not every image is going to please everyone. I know it's one of my weaker ones, but, I go back and look at it, and enjoy it. The thing I like most about this one is the atmosphere.

David,

Glad you like it. : )

I'm cooking something up at the moment, and, will announce in due course. I've got a lot on my plate at the moment with regards to work. Just a few more weeks and it'll all be over.

Barry,

Thanks, again. Yeah, still in Canberra, unfortunately. Not much chance to get away in recent times, way too much work on.

Ric,

Thanks, mate!

I would love to be able to see sunset over the ocean. For now, the Belt of Venus will have to do as a subject.

Frank,

Cheers, bud!

I have to admit, the poem's not mine. Just a lyric out of one of my favourite Rachel Goswell tracks. She has the voice of an angel!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXZ6_2rgP64

That's the Ulrich Schnauss remix; hers is more a folksy-rock tune. I love Ulrich Schnauss, and, I know you don't mind electronica, so, think you might enjoy this version.
